What is supercomputer Fugaku?
A supercomputer being developed by RIKEN as the successor to the K computer. In June 2020, Fugaku has taken first place on four supercomputer performance ranking and has the best performance in the world. Full-scale operation is scheduled to start in fiscal 2021.

How to Access World Fastest Class Supercomputer Fugaku
Open calls to access Fugaku
Why not try using the world’s fastest class supercomputer?
We will explain open calls for using Fugaku, including an ongoing call of Fugaku Preliminary Use Program.
RIST maintains a Global Partnership. Based on Memoranda of Understanding with PRACE, XSEDE, NSCC Singapore and NCI, RIST promotes information exchange between the global HPC community on the use of advanced research computing.
The Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe (PRACE) is an international non-profit association with its seat in Brussels. The PRACE Research Infrastructure provides a persistent world-class high performance computing service for scientists and researchers from academia and industry in Europe.
XSEDE (the Extreme Science and Engineering Discovery Environment) is a socio-technical platform that integrates and coordinates advanced digital services within the national ecosystem to support contemporary science.
NSCC Singapore was established in 2015 and manages Singapore’s first national petascale facility with available high performance computing (HPC) resources.
The National Computational Infrastructure (NCI) is Australia’s leading high-performance data, storage and computing organisation, providing expert services to benefit all domains of science, government and industry.
Research Organization for Information Science and Technology (RIST) is a general incorporated foundation which has been carrying out usage promotion services of the High Performance Computing Infrastructure (HPCI) of Japan, commissioned by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT). HPCI is a world top-class supercomputing environment with Fugaku and supercomputers from Japanese universities and research institutes connected by a high-speed network. RIST has taken a role as the operation office of the HPCI. Within a framework of HPCI, we are in charge of managing HPCI shared use computational resources and promoting usage, i.e. project selection, user support, and dissemination of research outcomes.
